8. Viserys Targaryen

Waaaay back in the first season of Game of Thrones, Daenerys was nothing but a bargaining tool for her brother Viserys’ machinations. It was shocking – but rather cathartic, in a twisted sort of way – to see him going out with style, obtaining the golden crown that he’d always wanted.

Except Khal Drogo pouring red-hot molten gold on his head isn’t quite what he had in mind. Ouch.
