2. Shireen Baratheon

Watching a child get hurt – especially an innocent child (that bastard Joffrey doesn’t count) – is hard to watch, and that’s what makes Shireen’s awful death one of Game of Thrones‘ most shocking. Especially considering it was at the hand of her father.

Stannis was under the impression that sacrificing Shireen – by burning her alive, nonetheless – would put him in good favour with the mysterious Lord of Light. Didn’t quite seem to work out though, did it, Stannis?
