4. The Government knew about Pearl Harbor

A popular conspiracy theory is that president Roosevelt actually knew about the attack on Pearl Harbor during WWII in advance but failed to do anything about it.

It’s speculated that he “needed” it to happen in order to provoke Hitler and thus enter the war, as the US congress and public were vehemently against helping Europe at the time.
