6. MK Ultra

Following on from the Illuminati, the MK Ultra (yes, the Muse song is named after it!) is an apparent CIA research programme that looked into mind controlling civilians. Apparently running between the 1950s and 1960s (and possibly beyond) there’s many believe this to be real, but of course, the government deny it.
